To My Clients Located Downtown Manhattan
After September 11th, I was involved in working with a number
of you for FEMA Loans, since then various areas of the government
have started providing grants for the downtown area. I have included
information about them as below. If you have any questions, please

Empire State Development (ESD) is implementing a $700
million Community Development Block Grant provided to New York
State by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD). These funds are available in the form of loans and grants
to qualified businesses impacted by the WTC disaster that commit
to job retention, job creation and investment in New York City,
with a priority on Lower Manhattan. Click

World Trade Center Business Recovery Grant Program,
an initiative designed to assist businesses and not-for-profit
organizations on or south of 14th Street in Lower Manhattan.The
program will provide assistance in an amount ranging from 2
to 10 days of gross revenues, capped at $50,000 to $300,000
per business, depending on location.

Guidelines
The WTC Small Firm Attraction and Retention Grant Program
will provide cash grants to eligible businesses and not-for-profit
organizations that commit to leasing space and employing people
south of Canal Street. The program will provide assistance in
an amount ranging from $35,000 to $1 million, based on location
and the number of employees at the eligible location.

Guidelines
Mellon Foundation Grant (for NYC cultural and performing
arts organizations)Grants of $250,000 to $2 million for
NYC cultural and performing arts organizations: A $50 million
fund targeted at cultural and performing arts organizations
directly affected by the events of 9/11. Candidates will need
to submit a proposal that documents the direct financial and
realted consequences they have experienced as a result of 9/11.
Individuals are not eligible. Organizations can be located anywhere

LMDC
Housing Assistance Program, residents who lived in
certain areas of Lower Manhattan on September 11th and remain
will be eligible for a one-time $1,000 grant. The program
also provides grants of as much as $12,000 for new and existing
residents who make a two-year commitment to Lower Manhattan.
To encourage families to make a home in Lower Manhattan, households
with at least one child are also eligible for a family bonus
of as much as $1,500
